Kintyre is a district of the Girlguiding County of Argyll. Argyll is geographically one of the biggest counties in the UK!
The county was recently restructured to allow for the rural aspects of the area. We no longer have Divisions but instead have extended Districts. As you can see from the map opposite Kintyre District covers quite a large area. From the Kintyre peninsula and Sanda Island to the South, to Campbeltown in the East and to the west the village of Tayinloan and Island of Gigha .
At present all our Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units are based in Campbeltown. |
